CROWNS AND BRIDGES

Quality Restorations for a Strong and Radiant Smile

Your smile gets its unique shape and sheen from your natural crowns (the part of your teeth that you can see). Though they’re impressively strong and resilient, your natural crowns can become irreversibly damaged by injury or severe tooth decay, resulting in tooth loss, pain, or weakness. Though your teeth can’t heal themselves once they’ve been compromised, you don’t have to live with a smile that’s lacking its highest potential for fullness, health, and beauty. With a high-quality dental crown or bridge, you can protect your smile from further damage and restore your tooth’s shape, function, beauty, and strength. Dr. Harrison combines her devotion to compassionate care and years of expertise with the best materials and dental laboratories available, for custom restorations that provide strong and natural-looking results that last for decades.
“I’ve been seeing Dr. Harrison since 2002. I’ve always felt comfortable and at ease with Dr. Harrison and her staff. They are caring and great with patients, especially nervous ones. I recommend them to everyone.”

Crowns

Made of metal alloys, gold, porcelain, or zirconia, a dental crown is a tooth-shaped cover that replaces the visible part of a tooth (called the crown) that’s become disfigured or damaged due to injury, weakness, or decay. Crowns can also be used to repair an expired crown or filling, anchor a dental bridge, or complete a dental implant restoration. Dr. Harrison will work with you to choose the crown material that meets your expectations and needs, with zirconia crowns typically her top choice for the strongest and most natural-looking restoration with the greatest longevity.

Zirconia crowns are made of a white metal related to titanium, called zirconium oxide. Along with being well received by human tissues (a property called biocompatibility), zirconium offers superior strength to porcelain crowns and, like metal crowns, is able to withstand the immense force your jaws produce during chewing. Zirconia crowns are always crafted by a highly trained technician in a dental laboratory, which creates their exceptional comfort and fit. The extra time, care, and skill that goes into each zirconia crown ensures that you get the most satisfying results for your valuable time and money.

Bridges

Along with making it difficult to properly chew and speak, missing one or more adjacent teeth can cause your teeth to shift out of place and make you feel self-conscious about your smile’s function and appearance. With a custom dental bridge, you can reclaim your smile’s function and fullness, prevent undesirable changes to your bite and smile, and restore your sense of self-confidence.

Made of zirconia, porcelain, or metal, a dental bridge is a custom dental restoration that suspends one or more prosthetic teeth (called pontics) between two or more dental crowns, which are securely bonded to the natural teeth or dental implants that neighbor the gap (called abutment teeth). To support your smile’s function and beauty, Dr. Harrison only uses the highest quality materials and dental laboratories and will work closely with you to craft a dental bridge that meets your desired outcomes and needs.
