As fall begins to creep over the treetops in reds and golds, it brings with it many festivals and community events. These events provide you with a great chance to take advantage of the last few months of beautiful temperatures. Whether you\u2019re seeking out ideas for a few family outings, unique date night ideas, or somewhere you can have some solo fun, events in Plano this fall that fit everyone\u2019s interests and needs come in plenty. Here are a few of the great events that the whole community can get involved in this fall.<\/span><\/p>\n This famous musical is set in the 1950s<\/a> and follows a group of teenagers as they navigate romance, friendship, and change. The main plot focuses on Danny and Sandy, who have a summer romance but don\u2019t seem compatible long term\u2014Danny is a leather-clad bad boy, while Sandy is a studious goody two shoes. To make their romance work, they\u2019ll need to cross clique lines or resign themselves to never moving past the single summer night they shared.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The musical ran for several years on Broadway and has since had success as a movie musical, as well as in many musical revivals. The show will take place in Plano each weekend from August 30 to September 8, but showtimes depend on the day. Tickets will range in price from $15 to $26. The show is recommended for ages 13 and up, as there are references to alcohol and smoking, as well as occasional swearing.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Georgia\u2019s Farmer\u2019s Market<\/a> will be hosting a citywide farmer\u2019s market every Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Downtown Plano Arts District. They will offer a variety of fresh local fruits, vegetables, and other locally-produced items, such as honey and bread. There will be live music on occasion for you to enjoy as you wander the stalls. The event itself is free, costing only what you decide to spend at the various vendors. It\u2019s a great way to get out and about with other members of the community and support local businesses.<\/span><\/p>\n The State Fair is an essential yearly event for the entire family, featuring a host of rides, educational tents on agriculture and animals, a petting zoo, and more. With plenty of food and contests, it offers more than enough to entertain your family for the entire day. The State Fair<\/a> will be about 30 minutes outside of Plano, and will be in town from September 27 to October 20. Admission costs range from $16.50 to $45.00.<\/span><\/p>\n If you\u2019re up for a little \u201cTexas Soul,\u201d this performance could be right up your alley. Prophets and Outlaws<\/a> is a band that masterfully performs a mixture of blues, country, and rock music. The band has repeatedly reached the top of the music charts over the years, with multiple songs making it into the Top 20 on the Texas Country Music Chart. The concert will be at the Courtyard Theater on October 3 and will go from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Tickets will be on sale for $29.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Although there will be plenty of food and more than 100 wines at this festival<\/a>, there will be a ton of other fun things to do with the family! There will be live music, and local businesses and artists will have stalls set up for you to browse through. Food and wine experts will demonstrate cooking or mixology techniques for those who are interested. Despite the fact that there will be wine, the festival is family-friendly, with plenty of events and stalls for people of all ages to enjoy. The festival is on October 5 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and is free unless you\u2019d like to take part in the wine tasting, which costs $40. With this cost, you\u2019ll get a pass to taste 20 wines and a commemorative wine glass to take home.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n This lively festival is a great way for your entire family to enjoy experiencing and learning about other cultures. More than 100 cultures will be represented at the festival, which will include ethnic food, activities for your children to get involved in, music and dance performances, and more. The festival, which will take place on October 12 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Haggard Park in Downtown Plano Courtyard Theater<\/a>, is completely free for your entire family. Parking is also free, allowing you to stay as long as you want without worrying about getting a ticket or your parking meter expiring.<\/span><\/p>\n If you\u2019re looking to have some family fun during the Halloween season, you and your kids will love this event. There will be competitions and games, plenty of Halloween-related activities<\/a>, and even some entertainment for the parents. Even better, your children won\u2019t have to choose between this event and going trick or treating in your neighborhood. The event will be on October 26 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Plano Event Center.
